§ 01
How we work in Scarsdale

Scarsdale is bigger. The houses on Heathcote Road, Cushman Road, and the streets around the Scarsdale Country Club sit on one- and two-acre lots, with floor plates of 6,000 to 12,000 sq ft. The projects follow the size: a primary dressing room sized at 200 to 400 sq ft, a separate his and hers configuration in most cases, a working pantry off the kitchen, a butler's pantry between the kitchen and the dining room, a wine room in the lower level, a mudroom, and a study or library. Sometimes the children's rooms and the laundry as well.

His-and-hers dressing rooms are the Scarsdale specialty. The typical layout is a primary suite with two dressing rooms entered from a shared circulation — one larger and one slightly smaller, each with its own door, each fitted to the wardrobe of the household member it serves. We catalog the wardrobe in person before drawing: the long-hang for the dresses and longer suits, the double-hang for shirts and short suits, the drawer count for the folded garments, the watch and jewelry storage, the shoe count by season. The drawing follows the inventory, not the other way around.

Wine rooms in Scarsdale are usually built in the lower level, set against a north or east wall for thermal stability. The typical project is 1,200 to 2,400 bottles on solid timber racking, with an Eurocave or WhisperKool cooling system, a glass enclosure on the public side, and a small tasting counter. The household tends to have inherited or accumulated a real cellar; we plan the racking around the bottles they actually own.

Logistics

Driveway delivery, gate-coded entry, no parking permit required. The houses are generally large enough that we can stage the install in a garage bay or a finished basement room rather than working out of the truck. The drive from the Bronx is twenty-six minutes off-peak via the Bronx River Parkway. Scarsdale projects are sequenced over six to ten weeks.

Every project is milled at the Bronx workshop — a 14,000 sq ft workshop on the East River — and installed by the same crew that built it. We do not subcontract the install.

Sixty minutes at the workshop or in your residence, no charge. Bring the floor plan if you have one.
