§ 07 Often asked
How long does a project take?

Four to six weeks for a typical dressing room. Two to three for a reach-in. Ten to sixteen for a coordinated whole residence.

What does it cost, and when do I pay?

Reach-in from $3,500. Dressing room from $18K (typical band $18K — 280K). Whole residence from $300K. Paid in thirds — on signing, at milling, on completion. The conversation is without charge.

Is there a warranty?

Twenty-five years on the cabinetry, a lifetime on the joinery. Held against your project number, transferable with the residence. Full terms on the care & guarantee page.

How disruptive is installation?

Two to five days on site, a single crew. Floors protected, the room left clean each evening. We return the next day to walk through.

Where do you work?

All five boroughs of New York, the Hamptons, Hudson Valley, Connecticut and Westchester. Selectively further — Aspen, Palm Beach, Nantucket, the Berkshires.

Will my pieces look dated in twenty years?

The system is built to be refinished, refaced and re-handled. We hold the original drawings and revisit them on request, ten and twenty years out.

How do I care for the finishes?

A dry cloth, and once a year a thin coat of the hardwax oil we leave with you. The full routine, by material, is on the care page.

Are installations done in-house?

Yes. The same team that draws and mills your project installs it. The maker who built the room is the maker who hangs it.

Replace existing closets, or build new?

Both. Removal and disposal of existing built-ins is included on every quote. We coordinate with your contractor on any framing changes.
