Custom closets in Lakewood.

Lakewood is historic Dallas — 1920s and '30s Tudors, colonials and the odd Spanish revival around White Rock Lake, houses with real architectural character and, often, the shallow original closets of their era. The work here is restoration-minded: add storage that looks as though it was always part of the house, build to the original ceiling height, and return the existing mouldings around the new casework so the seam disappears.

These are occupied family homes, so the survey is careful and the install is tidy. Each piece is drawn to the room and milled to those dimensions at our Dallas workshop, then fitted by hand to plaster walls that are never quite square — exactly the kind of work a vertically-integrated shop is built for.
